A Gala Beyond Reality
When corporate conferences choose to host their gala dinner in the same space as their daytime sessions, it certainly puts the pressure on to transform the room into something spectacular. For this 180-person event at the Millennium Hotel, we rose to the challenge and flipped the space into an immersive, Narnia-inspired wonderland.
Inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the gala transported guests into a wintery fantasy world, with thoughtful production details woven throughout the experience. The room was bathed in cool blue and purple lighting, evoking the crisp tones of a Narnian winter. At the entrance, a star cloth framed the pathway into the venue, creating the feeling of stepping through the wardrobe into another world. A snow machine completed the illusion, greeting guests with a flurry of falling snow as they arrived.
Our immaculate PA system of Y7p and Y Subs never cease to fill a room with encapsulating audio. At the Millennium, we are able to suspend our speakers from the ceiling with horizontal brackets which allows us to utilise space efficiently.
A striking 7.5m x 2.5m LED screen served as the focal point for the evening’s awards ceremony. The large-format display ensured every moment on stage was clearly visible, while additional digital displays placed around the room mirrored the main screen content so that every guest could stay connected to the action. Presenters were equally well supported, with on-stage comfort monitors displaying presentation slides, videos, and show notes, giving speakers confidence and ensuring a smooth, professional flow throughout the awards program.
